Welcome to QFPDD info center!

QingFei PaiDu decoction (QFPDD) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula that has been widely used to treat COVID-19 in China. It consists of 21 herbs divided into five functional units according to the compatibility theory of TCM.

According to recent studies, QFPDD has shown promising effects on COVID-19 patients by reducing fever, cough, fatigue and improving lung function. It also has anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties by regulating immune function and suppressing cytokine storm. The mechanism of action of QFPDD is not fully understood, but it may involve multiple targets and pathways related to COVID-19 infection. Some possible mechanisms include inhibiting viral entry and replication, modulating ACE2 expression and activity, enhancing interferon response, blocking NF-κB signaling, and restoring the balance of Th1/Th2/Th17/Treg cells15.

QFPDD is a complex herbal formula that may have synergistic effects among its components. However, more rigorous clinical trials and pharmacological studies are needed to confirm its efficacy and safety for COVID-19 treatment.

QFPDD info center is a novel platform that provides the related information about QFPDD, including but not limited to its composition (herbs and related ingredients) and gene expression of some key ingredients.

About Us

Professor Zhang Weidong is dean of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Medicine (IIM) at SHUTCM. He is also a vice-chairman of several national and international committees on natural medicine and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). His research focuses on natural product chemistry, pharmacological basis of TCM, and innovative drug discovery.

His research group consists of several subgroups led by serveral researchers who specialize in differnt area. Our group has abundant funding and advanced experimental facilities for synthesis, activity testing, and molecular biology studies34. Our group has undertaken more than 170 national-level research projects and obtained more than 200 million yuan of research funds in the past five years.

We aims to address the frontier problems and common challenges in pharmaceutical research and modernization and internationalization of TCM. It has formed distinctive features and advantages in interdisciplinary fields such as medicinal chemistry and chemical biology.

Zhang Weidong’s research group has made significant contributions to the fields of natural product chemistry, pharmacological basis of TCM, and innovative drug discovery. We has published more than 370 papers in various journals and conferences12, obtained more than 100 patents, and won several awards such as the National Science and Technology Progress Award. We has also established extensive collaborations with domestic and international institutions and enterprises. Our group is recognized as a national-level multidisciplinary innovation team for TCM.
